Trained as a painter, her sculptures have the spontaneous quality of drawings come to life. The simplified linear forms are playfully sophisticated. Her emphasis is on capturing the spirit of the subject rather than on realism. Each piece is richly enhanced by multi-layered hand painted finishes. The creative brushwork and patterning add a graphic vitality to these stylized animals. All sculptures are handpainted, signed and dated by the artist.
